This painting is from William Merritt Chase. The original was painted in1887 at Prospect Park Brooklyn which is the name of the painting. I painted into the night again, to finish this one day painting. It is different than the previous three, and was another challenge. Trying to make these paintings smaller is part of the challenge, as the brush strokes don’t match the original size. Well, it is an interesting game.

The main reason I am doing these paintings is not just to show them to you, but to learn from masters. Also, I want to be able to get my paintings (web site done a little faster. Generally I take 3-6 months to finish a painting, and I would like to speed that process up, hence “one painting a day”. I don’t have the luxury of creating art every day, as I work full time at another job, but I do have one day a week free to paint.

This oil painting is on canvas, 6×8”. It is available with the starting bid at $75. Contact me if you are interested in getting in on the bidding. or call (818) 558-7440.

Current highest bid:
$125.00 placed on Sunday, 1 July 2007.

I would love to hear from you and what you think of the pictures and the idea.
