Art for fun-Pencil portrait: In memory of Nero
This is Nero, the beautiful dog of Violetta, a friend from work. I did a full color oil portrait of him a few years ago. As you can probably tell, the pastel sketch below is the same dog. I was designing the oil portrait with a sketch in pastel. The final oil painting turned out quite different.
Nero lived a very long happy life and recently passed away. I wanted to do this sketch of him in memory of his sweet personality.
Even when he was so very old, he had the temperment of a pup. I was glad to know him.

Drawing for Fun: Ries brother of Royl
This is Royl’s brother, Ries. I did her portrait a few weeks ago.
They both made for challenging and fun drawing. Not just a straight on face with a plain smile.

Pet Portrait: Haggis the Hairy dog
I did this drawing from a very blurry photo. Haggis looks like he has a great personality.
As a reminder, I am doing pet as well as people portraits in pencil, only $40.

Drawing for Fun: Daphna as a little girl
This is Daphna, a dear friend of mine, when was 3 years old. I saw this photo of her as a child and wanted to draw it. Apparently she is dressed up in a costume of sorts, for Israel’s equivalent to our Halloween….and I thought this was some sort of traditional garb…oh well.

Drawing for Fun: Natalie and her horse
Here is Natalie and her horse Abby. She loves that horse. Has had it for many years. I wanted to capture that affection here, and I think I did.
This was one of the most difficult ones I have done so far in my quest for improving my drawing.

Drawing for Fun: Royl the happy girl
Here is the most recent finished drawing.
This little girl came out so cute, her family went crazy over the picture.
Her mom now wants to get the picture tattooed on her arm…Can you imagine?
Maybe I need to get into another art for besides canvases and paper.

Drawing for Fun: Fiona’s brother
This is another picture I just had to draw. It is the brother of my Irish friend Fiona. Her brother is adorable, isn’t he? This is from an old photo. Just caught my heart strings.
I am having more fun every day with my drawing, and now know that a big key to success as an artist is the FUN!!! I have noticed my improvement even more since starting this particular series.
