Master-Piece: Manet of Monet

February 6, 2008 at 11:26 am (Master-Pieces)

manet-of-monet.jpg

Here is my first “Master-Piece” from an Edouard Manet painting.   I recently watched a program on the Impressionists and learned of his major role in the Impressionist era.

This is from Manet’s painting of Monet and his wife called Monet in His Studio Boat.    This is Monet’s floating studio that he had built to get closer to his subjects in the water.

This oil painting is on canvas, 6″×8”. It is available with the starting bid at $80. Contact me if you are interested in getting in on the bidding. cs@christinesargent.com or call (818) 558-7440. If you want to buy and bypass the bidding, it is $125.

I did a repaint of the Monet Landscape #3. I felt it needed more paint and color.

What do you think?

Master-Piece: Chase landscape #2

December 18, 2007 at 3:12 pm (Master-Pieces)

painting-a-day-wm-chase-_2.jpg

Here is another William Merrit Chase “Master-piece”. Same park as the last one. Prospect Park. There were some figures on the bench that I chose to leave out. More and more I am doing my own take on these pictures (have you noticed?). I am getting to the point where I will be creating a lot more of my own miniature landscapes.

This oil painting is on canvas, 6″×8”. It is available with the starting bid at $80. Contact me if you are interested in getting in on the bidding. cs@christinesargent.com or call (818) 558-7440. If you want to buy and bypass the bidding, it is $125.

Master-Piece: Monet Landscape #3

December 2, 2007 at 10:26 am (Master-Pieces)

painting-a-day-monet-landscape_2.jpg

This is a famous Monet landscape. A Field of Poppies. When I decided to paint a “piece” of this one I found the two books that had this image in it had very different coloring. I chose the brighter one, as I love the lightness and feeling of spring. The other one was much darker. I don’t know what the original painting looks like, but I’d love to go to The Louvre some day and see it. Anyone want to go to Paris with me?

This oil painting is on canvas, 6×8”. It is available with the starting bid at $80. Contact me if you are interested in getting in on the bidding. cs@christinesargent.com or call (818) 558-7440. If you want to buy and bypass the bidding, it is $125.

Master-Piece: Renoir girl with dog*

November 30, 2007 at 9:49 am (Master-Pieces)

renoirgirl2.jpg

Here is my first Renoir. I just love him, and finally used one of his paintings to create this new Master-piece. In this piece, I picked her out of a painting that seems to have 2 names. Some places it is called La Promenade and other places Mother and children. I made some major changes here, as she was fair haired and now is a brunette here, *and the dog was my addition.

This Master-Piece is an oil painting on canvas, 6×8”. Contact me if you are interested in getting a painting like this, or any of my other pieces you have seen on this site. Makes a nice Christmas gift. cs@christinesargent.com or call (818) 558-7440.

Master-Piece: Monet Garden #3

August 2, 2007 at 8:54 pm (Master-Pieces)

painting-a-day-monet-garden-a_3.jpg

Here is the next Monet Master-Piece. This is taken from his Terrace at Sainte-Adresse. The original painting was done in 1867, and is actually a seascape, but you can’t really tell by this small “Piece” so I’ll call it a Monet Garden.

This Master-Piece is an oil painting on canvas, 6×8”. It is available with the starting bid at $60. Contact me if you are interested in getting in on the bidding. cs@christinesargent.com or call (818) 558-7440.

Master-Piece: Monet Garden #2

July 21, 2007 at 12:39 pm (Master-Pieces)

painting-a-day-monet-garden_2_opt.jpg

This is a Monet from a bit earlier in his painting career. It is a small “piece” from his painting called Garden in Bloom. I had a lot of fun doing this, which meant to me that it was either a lot easier subject or I am getting better at doing these.

So far, all my earlier Master-Pieces have sold. Yippee!!

This Master-Piece is an oil painting on canvas, 6×8”. It is available with the starting bid at $60. Contact me if you are interested in getting in on the bidding. cs@christinesargent.com or call (818) 558-7440.

Master-Piece: MONET GARDEN

July 9, 2007 at 5:56 pm (Master-Pieces)

painting-a-day-monet-garden-085-2.jpg

Here is the latest Monet. It is a small “piece” of one of his better known garden scenes. Monet fans, do you recognize it?

This one also kept me up until late in the night in order to finish it. The challenge is worth it, though, because I’m beginning to get the hang of it. I am not sure if this is the way the impressionists actually painted, but it gets the effect for me.

This oil painting is on canvas, 6×8”. It is available with the starting bid at $60. Contact me if you are interested in getting in on the bidding. cs@christinesargent.com or call (818) 558-7440.

Hope you are enjoying these little Master-Pieces.
